ok I need some help, My sons computer said it has Dir x 8.xx instasled  I tryed to upgrade it to 9.0c fo a game he bought downloaded fine said insalled , but the game will not run becasue it shows 8.xx still but when i go to download and install Dir x  it shows that its installed.   

How do i uninstall Dir x and start from scrach  and please speak in lamin terms im not a computer genius so small words are apprecated.

did you go to the games site and check their FAQ's to see if it's a game issue and a patch needs to be installed?

I didn't ask what the box said old man.

The game might need to be patched.  Did you go to the developers website and install any game patches?
