Ok My computer caught an STD a few days ago, I cant seem to get ride of it. I have run My Norton AV program, Run the Microsoft malice removal tool, But it finds nothing.  It seem to have really effected IE (But not Foxfire) every page pops up to Blank then goes to Total Secure 2009 then to Blank. also when I look it up it said it a Trojan.  OK I have Window XP professional. Im am open for what ever it takes. Even if i have to whip my hard drive and start from scratch

honestly...easiest thing to do is reinstall XP. Save yourself the aggravation.

Burn your wow folder to DVD and then reinstall windows. When you are done just copy WOW back to your hard drive (gr0n turned me onto that)....huh huh I said gr0n turned me on

Sadly arctic, he's probably right. Depending on what virus you have formatting and reinstalling is always the best way to get rid of them. it's either that or hours of scouring your machine for infected files with countless programs. It's a pain in the ass.

I would suggest though, giving this a shot if you don't want to reformat.

and damn you thrun for beating me to it.

You could also give McAfee Stinger a try before wiping your HD.

combofix, i see a ton of laptops and this usually works very well. although if it comes up with a lot of crap, its best to just back up what you want to keep and reformat.

McAfee is pretty good.  Despite what these neoconservatives think, "these elitists" work for a university that uses McAfee almost exclusively.  Marxists...
