I want FFXIII and God of War III on PS3. The MMO does look nice, just don't know how I would like an MMO on a console, don't care for them on PC... lol

In a DVD included with the September 2009 edition of Famitsu magazine, Nobuaki Komoto announced that while Final Fantasy XIV will include XI's job system, it will be retuned to focus on weapons and skills, and will not have experience points or a leveling system.
no XP or leveling......cool

If they can fix the complete lack of anything to do while solo/small group as well as the travel time issues then I'm on board.
Wonder why they kept the looks and changed the names of the races.

"Group play has been de-emphasized, and now solo and group play have been balanced.[6] Weapon use will alter "character development"
also there are teleport crystals so they might have fixed the 3 zone to get to city travelling

Looks like there's still a lot of speculation and very limited information out there so far. Hopefully a beta will get rolling soon and we'll find out more. I really enjoyed FFXI and if they improve even slightly from that game I will be very interested.

Classic! It seems your class/job might be based on what weapon you are using instead of visiting a Moogle to swap. I sure hope they somehow keep sub-jobs though...I really liked that aspect of the system.

http://www.ffxivcore.com/index.php?/topic/52-final-fantasy-xiv-ultimate-faqWeapons have a huge role in advancement, as there are no levels. Your weapon will decide your abilities and your role. Basically you progress as you please, choosing whatever equipment and abilities that suite your style. As you progress you will earn "titles" that are the closest you will get a class. For example, if you wear samurai-like armor, use a great katana, and choose to use samurai skills, you will earn the title of "samurai".
