Yeah I do that at carry out places as well. They always seem a little pissed about it and never fill it all the way up when I ask for no ice but I know I'm getting more than if there was ice so I don't complain.

I always ask for no ice because i don't like my drink to get watered down, unless I'm drinking water. You could also just fly business class. They never cut you short on anything there. Free booze, a cheese and fruit platter, little lemon scented towels for your face. That was a nice trans-Atlantic flight back to Germany (free upgrade because I was military, almost didn't get it, but the woman at the counter fibbed a little to get us better seats).

Yeah if you ask for the can they will give it to you.

And yeah places try to fill your cup with about 2/3rds ice to save syrup. I allow it anyway since I prefer ice in my drink anyway, I'd much rather have it a little watered down then drink warm pop.. yuck! Plus I prefer my drinks ice cold

Actually if your talking about restaurants most of the stuff coming out of the machines is already cold so you don't need ice to go with it or not nearly as much. Unless your talking tongue sticking to glass cold, then you would need ice.
