So...most of you know I havent had the best luck with work.

Well, started the new job, and even though the hours suck, I like it.  And am making pretty decent money.

Some of you also know that I have an 87 Thunderbird Turbocoupe that I have been messing around with for over a year with not much forward progress.

Well, to make a long story short.  I bought this, and pick it up sunday.

And the kicker (really clean underneath)

Probably a foolish purchase, but I love these cars and when I realized I had the money to buy it, I had to go see it, and it was a done deal after I looked at it and took it for a ride.

Thing is, everything that is wrong with this car (mostly interior stuff) I have on my current tbird.  PLUS the underside of this car is pretty dam clean compared to my other one.

BTW the paint isnt really as good as it may look in these pics.  VERY sun faded (even non-existant in some places on the hood and roof.

Anyway, just wanted to share my new hobby with everyone.

PS expect this to be my ride to oHIo on the 6th.  Smiley

Stu,
That is sweet.  I don't know about the red interior, but if you have something a little tamer in your other tbird, do that.  If you don't drive this thing to the bus next month, i will be disappointed.  jk, but I do want to see this sweet machine.  I want to see how it compares to the V8 94 tbird i used to have.

Sure Turk, you're welcome to take her for a drive...

Wait...

Sure Turk, I'll take you for a ride when I get there.

Stu, take my advice...do NOT let Turk drive it.  He is a world-renowned car killer.

I'm not a car killer.  I just find problems with them easily.  The engine blowing up wasn't entirely my fault.  That engine had flawed valve retainers.  Above 5k rpms, they were prone to dropping a valve on the exhaust stroke.  The next stop is the side of the road with oil and coolant everywhere.

Gots her home today, long drive....drives nice on the highway, and pulls nice straight through to ...well lets say possibly triple digits.

Not as pretty as she will be this time next year, but I'm happy.  Except the exhaust, kinda loud with a gutted cat and 3" exhaust that dumps behind the drivers wheel.

Now for the big test, will be driving it all this week.
