Title: The ballots are in and the winner is...... INTEL!!!!
Post by: Hawkes on July 14, 2006, 03:25:50 PM
Well, it's been a long time coming.  For years, Intel has had to suffer defeat in all PC gaming benchmarks and all real world tests to that wanna-be company AMD.  Now, the tables have finally turned!  Here's a quote from a recent article at AnandTech.com....

Compared to AMD's Athlon 64 X2 the situation gets a lot more competitive, but AMD still doesn't stand a chance. The Core 2 Extreme X6800, Core 2 Duo E6700 and E6600 were pretty consistently in the top 3 or 4 spots in each benchmark, with the E6600 offering better performance than AMD's FX-62 flagship in the vast majority of benchmarks. Another way of looking at it is that Intel's Core 2 Duo E6600 is effectively a $316 FX-62, which doesn't sound bad at all.

Now, for a real good article on real world gaming results... check out HardOCP.  This will basically call all the other results BS, but the bottomline is that cheaper Intel CPU's are beating the highest end AMD CPU.

LOL

yer funny, that "wanna be" company kicked intels ass for how many years?

They will again.  Its about time Intel took 1st in something tho.

I must add:  I dont care which to be honest, just AMD has always been a tad cheaper, and better performance so...  as long as it runs my games, I dont care if my box contains a hamster on a wheel.

Besides, they make WOW for mac.

:P

haha.... wanna be is what we hear at the conferences.  Absolutely they kicked their ass for a long time.  They still beat them in memory controller.  If Intel put a memory controller on the CPU die.... AMD should just shut their doors.
