Pretty much The Fixer is the only thing I can tolerate on that album. I guess "The End" is kind of ok, everything else is fucking noise.  wtf is "im gonna see my friend"... wtf kind of lyrics is that?

Who are they even fucking trying to relate to with that garbage? not the teenie boppers, and certainly not old PJ fans

I guess it's just not possible to expect continuous quality from old bands.

I mean, what the hell is going on here..

Is it the artists getting jaded by wealth, and losing their angst about what they originally sang about?

Is it the listeners only able to identify with the older songs, out of nostalgia, reflection to different/better times?

I don't think its the latter, I mean I can enjoy a few continued artists work, such as with Reznor, who can reinvent his sound.

I could enjoy almost the whole PJ's Ten album, and then those same guys can put out shit albums with one hit wonder tracks on them... I mean damn, Eddie still has a pretty good voice even after all this time, just for fucks sake someone learn to write a damn song.

Then listen to ACDC or Slayer where every albums sounds the same

Part of the problem is the first album a band puts out is the one that they were waiting to put out their whole lives, you know.  Like this is why we started this band and this is the culmination of our effort and sound.  It's hard to follow that level of passion up with something else unless you are really tallented.

The other problem is that pretty much every band you listed there besides GnR, and maybe the first Pumpkins record was teeny bopper bullshit to begin with. 

ACDC is always great.

Really it's not about sounding the same, it's about sound good.

Like I said, Reznor's music has changed over time, though it always tends to be good.
