here are some screenshots...environment looks a lot like wow. FarCry/Crysis water. You can see the armors are WAY more realistic. I posted some of the colors of the game. They were taken in the capital city. Also the screenshot of my flying is just the taxi.

There isn't. Hawkes and Phazis plays on Triniel. I closed my sub since I didnt have anyone to play with and was already paying for FFXI. If more people join I would be happy to resub but with me downloading Dragon Age right now and MW2 on the 10th I figured I would split time with those.

There would be a guild presence if you WoW crack addicts had your shit together.  Phazis brought up Aion monthave no intentions of going anywhere.  There are some positions with in the legion right now that we are in need of, but I'm not sure what they are.  I'd have to check wtih Phazis since he keeps track of that stuff.

Red what time were you on?  Also, did you ever get on vent?  I know you aren't the most talkative person, but everyone is on vent all the time.

I'll fraps some footage tonight and post it later.

We be interested in the shiny! What should we know before starting a character to effectively join up with other Wolverines! The graphics look incredible, the armor is SWEET, my only question is the game play. Is it quest based? Is their tons of carnage PvE/PvP?

Graphics are sweet if your system can handle it.  It uses the Crytek engine.  Single and quest and campaign quests.  Quests could be individual or group based as well as spy based (meaning you go to the other sides home territory to complete a quest).  Tons of PvP, PvE or PvPvE.  I didn't get on last night... I'll try again today.

From what I understand there is a little grinding on mobs in some places as the quests won't level you all the way and end game is more PvP or PvPvE.  Looks like a nice game, but other than the pretty graphics it seems like most MMOs.

If anyone is interested in a free trial (very short, but might be enough for you), let me know.  There is currently a 3-day, level 7, or 7 hours trial.  I know it sounds goofy and pretty shitty, but it might be good for those who aren't sure if they might be interested.  Send me your email address and I will send you the trial invite.

After hitting level 25 I must say I have mixed feelings about Aion.  It's beautiful to look at...but yes, there's still the typical MMO-style grind involved.  However, there is a much more PvPvE spin to it (like Rothlan said), and it seems like they took a lot of the best from games like DAoC, WoW, EQ2, and even a little Planetside.  When you first get the game expect a very WoW/EQ2/Warhammer-like experience.  When you hit 25 you'll do your Abyss quests and get to see what PvPvE is all about.  Then you get to do a "Training Grounds" instance from 25-28, then after that you start going to the real PvPvE areas.  FYI you can get ganked even in the lower-level areas.

Imagine a Planetside-like MMO, where you conquer a base and then you can run an instance that's in the base.  Pretty fucking sweet eh?  Is it like Wow?  Yes...but it's different enough and more PvP oriented like PS and DAoC that it's worth it, IMO, even if there is a bit of a level grind.

Just my $0.02.
