I traded in Mario Party 8, game haven't looked at in over a year, a game I can't even pay people to play when they come over, for $37 dollars towards Black Ops. So $26 dollars total for a new game sounded good for me. Now the bad news, I will be playing it on the PS3.

So far too early to say too much about the game. Going to beat single player before I do multiplayer.

So, did I waste my money on the PC version?

FYI, this is a hot mess right now on PC. There is supposed to be a patch coming, but right now its a lag fest. Nearly unplayable.

How's the single-player campaign?

Played through a bit of the single player. It is pretty fucking awesome. I usally dont get into the single player stories on these games but this one kicks ass. I recommend you get it. Graphics look awesome too (6 core AMD OC @ 4 gig, GTX 5850, 64 BIT WIN 7, 4 GIG DDR3)

Lol great picture. The SP is great. My favorite part was the SR-71 Blackbird part. Since you have to "buy" your weapons anyone have tips on which weapons "seem" better then others?

So far I am using the Famas Assault rifle, and the AK47U SMG. The AK47U SMG is very good. Famas seems average, nothing special. Not sure which Shotgun or LMG I should use.

they patch MP yet? i might be getting this tomorrow if they did.

I am having a lot of fun the MP5K and M16 with different attachments. Cant wait to unlock the FAL, thats one of my faves.

Is the multiplayer fixed yet? I'm downloading on Steam now.

M16 is a pretty kick ass rifle with the ACOG on it. I use it most. The AK74U has been my favorite sub so far. The RPK is a bad ass LMG. I haven't used many shotty's yet.

None of the guns seem to be far superior to the others, they are balanced pretty well. My favorite setup is an ACOG M16 then pick up a fully auto off of someone for my secondary. I have yet to try and kill someone with a pistol outside of a wager match.

Yeah balance seems pretty good, for launch anyways.AK74U still my favorite sub by far(PS:its one of the best guns to display an emblem).

Now that I have leveled farther I got an idea on more weapons. The SPAS is pretty amazing shotgun, however, the final one if you buy all the shotguns is the best stat wise. The same goes for LMGs, the RPK seems the best, but if you buy all the LMGs the final one echos the RPK but bumps up every stat a little (dmg/rateoffire/accuracy/etc.). Using the AUG for my assault rifle now, seems a little stronger then the Famas. Would say so far the assault rifles seem to be almost dead even on balance, only real difference is if you like semi-auto, 3-shot burst, or full-auto. (Haven't used the FAL yet but loved it in MW2)

MP doesn't appear to have been patched yet.  I was able to smooth it out dramatically by following the tips on this page here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1572406

I still suck hardcore at this game.  It's much different than BC2 and takes some adjusting.

If you unlock the AK47 at level 38 you will be amazed. That gun kicks some ass!

Yep I am using the AK47 now. Still find it pretty close to the AUG. Btw FAL SUCKS!. Takes way to many shots to get a kill. In MW2 I could pop a person twice and kill them. This game feels like it takes 4 shots, maybe 3 on a good day. So if I miss a couple of shots takes me average 6-7 shots to kill someone, way to long compared to auto or burst guns.

FAL is FAIL, takes 6 body shots to drop someone, or two in the neck/head.

Sniper rifles are a bitch to get down.

ya i didn't like the FAL. would be a little better if there were more long range maps.

I'm really good a a couple of the maps and really horrible at all the others. I'm having 30+ Kill and 5- Deaths on Jungle, but can't do shit on Hanoi for some reason. There is only one long range map and it's actually not long.

I sent activision an E-mail that I wanted my money back for this hot steaming pile of garbage. I can't believe that these people could for one second release a game with as many issues as this one has.  I havn't been spending any money on games as of late anyway, but I would sooner chop my hands off and rub my bloody stumps in salt then give these people a dime.

I haven't noticed any problems with the 360 version, and haven't spent enough time on Steam to notice issues there.

OK gang... I have enough to cough up for the game... the question is should I get it or wait it out?  PC verison of course.

This has been my favorite call of duty to date, if they've fixed the PC bugs I say get it, just need someone to say if they've fixed them yet or not.

if you liked other COD you should like this one. seems pretty balaced, you can only further your kill streak with your weapon so your not getting raped by killstreaks all day, which i like.

I got screwed over on Black Ops. My rank got reset randomly with no reason. I wasn't cheating or exploiting. Just randomly logged on and it reset my rank back to 1 non-prestige. So... I would recommend against buying Black Ops unless you have a lot of time on your hands. Getting reset like I did will set me a month back from enjoying the weapons I want to. When you get reset, there is no support, Activision told me they can't do anything there are no backups, and Treyarch just gives no response at all. So if there is a glitch from the new patch they released, many people also saying they got reset, then oh well I guess.
