I've never been much of an Apple person, but their new iPhone is just about the dopest thing that has ever doped.  If you don't feel like sitting through the hour and half long keynote speech about it like I did, here's a youtube video to give you a better idea of what it can do.  The 4gb version will be $500 and the 8gb version will be $600.  The rub here is that they are Cingular exclusive.  Anyone here a Cingular rep that can get me a sweet deal?

yeah I hate apple too but I will be buying one of these the second they come out.

I like it, I like it alot.  It would satisfy my need for both a new ipod and a new phone.

Only complaints I have about it is that thing would get smudged up in seconds with no stylis, and it costs as much as a PS3.

Uhh..... you guys are nuts.  Jobs is putting a sub-par piece of technology on the market.  The cellular capabilities of this are already a step behind.  If I were you, I'd wait til the bugs are worked out and they put 3G in it. 

That's fine, I hate talking on the phone anyway.  If I want to get out of a conversation I'll just say, "I'm sorry, my cellular capabilities are a step behind.  I'm going to have to call you back from a land line."

Yeah... talk about asshats.  Typical Jobs move on the Cisco deal.  I don't blame them.  They had paperwork to them the night before and Apple never signed it.  The bitch is that he'll get out of it too.

haha... that's was funny brent.  No, I actually think the guy is a genius.  I'm just shocked that he put out a mediocre product.... very much unlike him.  Inrespect to the legal issue, he's so stuck on himself that he probably figures his position and influence in the world will win over Cisco.

Thats how the appleworld article makes it out to be. Jobs will win only because...they're Apple.

OK... for starters it's not 3G.  Why in the world would you create such a product and not make it 3G?  Email.... Yahoo!'s Go service?  Huh?  why?  Why not use a real push email service like what is embedded in Microsoft's latest exchange server... or better yet.... why not promote your own .mac service.  Music.... it doesn't interact wiht iTunes?  huh?  3rd party apps.... this is a huge opportunity in the mobile space.  Apple will be putting off some people with this one... especially without having a real email support mechanism.  Oh and nice screen... especially when you put it up to your cheek..... ever wonder how greasy your skin really can be?

So.. it doesn't interact with iTunes the same way that a regular iPod does?

No... but also keep in mind that this probably won't be out for at least a year... I'm figuring 2008.  He still has some major hurdles to jump over.... FCC approval and all that.

Looks like i'm going with a different phone then.  I'll probably skip one that plays mp3s and just get a cheap ipod

From what I gathered in the keynote, it has the full functionality of an iPod, including syncing with iTunes.  It will be in stores in June.

Yes but as of right now, it will not allow you to download from the iTunes store directly to the phone.  You have to go to PC first then sync.  And if he has it out in June, I'll bake cookies.

Really the bottomline for me is Apple will put out a 1st generation of the device and it will ohh and ahhh the crowd.  Your bleeding edge people will jump on it and give Apple the feedack they are hoping for to make the 2nd generation the one that people should really be buying.  They did the same thing with the 1st iPod.

I got the new shuffle.....it works fantastic for me. I went thru 2 ipods and but until they get bigger screens and play video better I'll stick with the shuffle.

I thought everyone knew not to buy anything apple at first. you always wait for fixes.

I hate my phone and I've had nothing but bad experiences with T-Mobile in the last 2 weeks so I'm getting geared up for a new phone/service.

Watched the keynote on this about <how many times caleb?>  (1 time) looks sweet, getting one. My stimulus check gets here on July 11th, its released on July 11th - it was meant to be.

Anyways it will be interesting to see people find the negatives now with the 3G and low price. Still being only on AT&T kinda sucks.

the drop in the iphone price was cool, but they also upped the AT&T service plan by 10-15 bucks so the price equals out over the 2 year contract. but that's fine with me, I have sprint now and they blow.
