I dont know why, but i pictured it being a bunch of machines and it being fully automated.

This was on one of the news channels the other day.  I too thought it was automated... can't believe it's only 50 people.

Not that I want any more people to be out of work, but I imagine it would be much more efficient if it was automated. The scratch/damage checking I can understand being a human, but all the rest of it is perfect for machines.

but you figure they also have to verify that the disk is the correct movie and people aren't just sending back blank cdr's or old copies of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.  I hadn't thought about it before and I just figured robots were doing the work too.  I think I'm going to start leaving little motivational messages on my netflix disks when I send them back from now on.

Sorry to derail....

Robots are our future (GM).  I'm indirectly working on a project where we will be building the engine (for the Chevy VOLT) with Robots fastening down all the major components.  Its the first of its kind for us where we are taking our robot integration to things more related to assembly than strictly supplychain type activities.

No more paying someone $30/hr to screw in a bolt.  But then again, Robots don't buy cars, so who wins?

At least some one still has to bolt down the robots.
