Hey guys.  Recewntly I discussed building a new PC, but I am going to wait on it a bit since we might be looking to sell the house next year and buy a new one so I'd rather have the money go towards that right now.  I bought a quad core CPU through my Intel account and am going to put it up on eBay unless someone here is interested.  I am looking to sell it for $450 (which is lower than Newegg or ZipZoomFly) and I will cover the shipping on it UPS Ground.  You can also make me an offer if you think $450 is too steep, but please don't jerk my chain.  If you are interested, please let me know what motherboard you have so I can confirm that it will work for your system.

As far as CPU's go, how good is it compared to what else is out there?

I would love to have something like this if I do decide to build a new computer.

It's great for video/audio editing.  Games are not on the market to take advantage of all four cores yet.  There are a couple I remember reading about (mostly the ones that utilize ageia physx graphic enhancements).  I do video editing of the home movies and was also looking forward to the games which is why I picked it up.  This is a new retail package still in the shipping box it came in from Intel.

It would still work well for existing games though right?

Correct... assuming your mobo can handle a quad core.  Today's games will only wind up using 1 or 2 of the cores.  No loss in performance.
