I bought it directly from Blizzard, but Amazon has it cheaper now.  Sad

However, I got into the beta as soon as I bought it and am still in so I guess that's some consolation.

Christine and I played the open beta this weekend...We did have pre-orders, but really we see nothing here that justifies paying $60x2 for a game that already exists, just for the sake of it looking better.

I was also upset at how the WoW easy mode jumped in here...Lock on casting with left click...while this may be better...even after playing 2+ hours it felt wrong...left me thinking:

I enjoyed the Act1 play through, however I was not as hooked as I know I still can be with Diablo II. I will probably play some of that this week and make my final decision.

Anyone else find it hard not to be squinting at the screen (kind of like second nature from playing DII so much BItD)

It's the same targeting system as the prior Diablo games.

Otherwise the game has a somewhat different feel than from D2, but I guess the same could be said about D2 from original Diablo, so no suprise there.

However, I think most of my time will be invested into GW2 once that is released which incidently is made by the folks that are responsible for the first 2 Diablo games, Warcraft, and initial WoW content.

I'll be going with a monk on release.

I haven't tried the Monk yet.  Played the beta all the way through with the Sorcerer and gave the Witch Doctor and Barbarian a try.  I played 15 minutes with the Demon Hunter and decided I didn't like it.  I like the three others, but not sure which best yet...

Are the skill trees really going to be that watered down? Not sure if I'm totally down with DIII... I liked the massive customization that D2 gave. Think I might stick with D2+Median XL mod

Games out and the servers have been down all day for maintenance.  I'm sick and fucking tired of these single player games coming out requiring online access.  I can't play a fucking single player game because some shitass server in Buttfuck Shittown is down.    I own a $60 piece of cockflap right now.

E-mail is Steveg640@live.com  (Don't remember battletag)

Not sure if you can just download trials off blizzard's site but if anyone is on the fence it came with four. Just say something if you want one.

Well, played through this thing finally after the servers were stable enough to allow it. The cinematics were fantastic, but apart from that it didn't feel like a true successor.

Now there were some nice feature additions such as the marketplace, but also some lost i.e. party size, rebranding of items, loss of most party bonuses. Apart from the last bit of the last act, the theme just didn't feel consistent with the series. It could just as well been a game under a different title.

I guess the shock and awe factor wasn't there. Some awe with the cinematics, but otherwise no shock as the bosses failed to provide a challenge, nor were the dungeon themes as intimidating as it's forerunners.

@Night, your feelings mirror most others that I have read.

I think the "game" really starts on Nightmare mode.

That aside, I like it. Very fun.
