This may be something to check back with in March pending the PS3 release. As much as I hate to say it, they released a very unfinished game.
Awfully pretty though....

Yeah, it's pretty sad that in many ways FFXI is better than this game. All they really needed to do was upgrade the graphics engine and make the game more soloable and it would have been ok. I might put it on hiatus as well... for shame SquareEnix... shame.

Am I doing this right?
I haven't played when others are on generally so:
1) I log in and go to Ul'dah and pick up whatever quests the Taru gives me. He makes me trade in quests that I can't seem to activate anyway.
2) I complete quests
3) I run out of things to do
The check system for mobs is strange because one will be blue but when you engage it, it ends up being a red shield! Also, wtf is up with running away and spawning friends!!!!
Once you do you quests is the idea that you help your friends with theirs, you grind on random stuff or what?
Also I want to try out leather working and/or carpentry but I can't seem to find someone to sell me a saw or leather workers tool. /sigh

To figure this game out you have to smoke peyote then spend 2 days in a sweat lodge hallucinating.
You buy that stuff in the merchant hallway area. Main hand and off hand.
You might try going over to Limsa after you do uldahs and pick up the level 10 ones there and do those.

The running away and spawning thing is a pain in the ass. Most of the time its just short distances but I did have a quest where a mob ran 3 times in a row and then theres that stupid sand yaron quest where he runs half the god damn map.
Leatherworking tools are on that strip like Red said, west around the circle from the quest givers on a spoke.

I logged in last night and within 15 minutes was completely annoyed and logged out. I'll probably cancel my sub and wait until March.
