Yep, thats what Blender is, I think I remember Hawkes playing with that software, but wasn't sure. Pretty cool that that was created with something that is free though.

yeah one of the students who works for me is really big into 3d animation. he's pretty good with maya. he showed me this vid and blender last week i think. its really well done.

I've used Blender for the mod im working on. Its a good program for many things, of which I use to make LODS.

That would take quite a bit of work to make such a presentation.

Yes Stu I have seen it. Blender is absolutely amazing for being open source. Anyone doing 3d or animation should seriously look in to Blender. If you've used 3DS Max or any of the commercial modeling programs, you will find Blender to be very comparable both in respect to what it can produce as well as the mechanics behind it. It may take a but more time and have a little bit of a learning curve, but you can't beat free.
