I've always found the M16 with the Red Dot Sight to be my personal Favorite.

I find myself using the M4/red dot most often. While the silenced g36 with turbo fire and stealth mode works very well.

I've been using the M249 SAW w/ red dot sight. I've just recently as of a week or two ago reinstalled so still on my way to unlocking the guns.

But the SAW works nicely, took some getting used to with the kick and the aim going high. Although its nice when I am with a good group and they actually move when I throw down some supressing fire to cover them.

EDIT: If you guys want to get a group going let me know. It'd be nice to get in with some people who have sense of tactics and not just the whole spray and pray mentally.

I'd love to play with some of you guys, but I think I'm the only one in this group who plays it on the 360 Sad

Well, I've never played COD4, but from RL experience, I can say I prefer the M4 over the M16A2 for the most part. It's lighter, and easier to aim. The M249 is too big and jams up too often for my tastes, so I'm glad it's not my primary weapon. I did get to qualify on the M9, though, and that was fun.

the problem with the M4 in game is that it's fully automatic so aiming becomes an issue and ammo usage gets out of control fast. In the real world I'd take the M4.

I may have to change my answer about RL preference. I just went to the firing range today and qualified on a KD (Known Distance) Range with 40/40. First time I have ever qualified Expert, and I do it with no misses at all.

For those that are curious how a KD Range works, there is a single pop-up target per lane. First you shoot 20 rounds (2 10 round magazines) from the prone supported position at 300m in 120 seconds. Next you move up to 200m and shoot 10 rounds from the prone unsupported in 60 seconds. Then you move uyp to the 100m line and shoot 10 rounds kneeling in 60 seonds. KD Ranges are nice because you know when you hit the target, it goes down and pops back up.

Maybe when my new comp gets here, I'll get COA4 and play a bit.
