mineral oil and distilled water works because it doesn't conduct electricity ... not sure about anti-freeze

I was curious about this so I read on it a bit. Apparently most anti-freeze sold commercially is essentially ethylene glycol, which has a high boiling point and a low freezing point, and will not conduct electricity.

Make sure the holes are plugged, or...well if you did it already you know...

Ze Germans came and broke into my car this weekend while I was in Kansas getting fucked up.  I spent 16 hours yesterday trying to get home only to find the soft top on the Miata sliced open and the interior thrashed.  Sweet.  Adjuster is coming out tomorrow and he better bring his check book.  And his green hat.

Wow that sucks dude.  Hopefully you can get some new parts to install on it.  Also make sure that the insurance company pays you a hourly rate to do the install yourself.  I have Geico and they did that for me once.

Yeah, people go through my jeep a couple times a year, but I leave the doors unlocked and don't leave anything valuable in it. The top is worth $800, so if they cut it I'm out a lot more money than anything they could take out of it. Granted it only has liability insurance.

Well that went well.  The car came pretty close to being totalled, but I managed to keep the title clean and I got a big ass check for a bunch of stuff I'm going to fix myself instead of replacing with new parts.  I am going to have to order a new top shortly.  I think I'm going to follow Rando's lead and leave the doors unlocked from now on.
