Hey, this is more of an academic related question but I was hoping one of you might know off the top of your head or know the best way to do this.

Where is the best place to go/call to speak to an advisor to make sure all credits from another school (in this case CSCC) will transfer to OSU?  A friend is having difficulty getting someone to speak to about it.

Thanks in advance!

hmmm my first guess would be to call the university registrar's office. 614-292-8500. thats where all the class scheduling goes through, they would def be a good place to start.

Do you know what major your friend would want to go into?  If you do, I'm sure we could dig up some departmental phone numbers to find a few advisors from that college.

My sister is an adviser at Perdue, if your friend would rather just give the whole thing up and go to school there.

Psychology, specifically Clinical Psychology if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the help Smiley

Maybe OSU has changed but I doubt your friend is going to get full credit for all of the courses they have taken even if its from CSCC. I still remember waiting to talk to my advisor and talking to someone who was there to beg their advisor to try and get full credits for some courses they took at BGSU.  They studied from the exact same text book OSU did but still weren't going to get but partial credit for the courses because OSU just doesn't like transfers.

OSU makes their money off people by forcing them to take more classes, they can't charge more for them since they are a state school.  The only way for OSU to make more money is to force them to take more classes hence not allowing credits for transfers.

Yeah that is what she is trying to find out.  I know people who have gone to other schools and will just take a handfull of general education stuff that do transfer over.  I've heard that OSU does at least take a lot of the courses CSCC has to offer so hopefully it will at least be a somewhat easy process.

I didn't think that OSU was that malicious, Gar.  They do have all those students that aren't transfers.....

Like I said it might have changed but I still remember that person was in the office trying to fight for full credits but wasn't holding out hope.

We've had a boatload of RT's with their associates come to OSU to get the bachelors in Respiratory Therapy and all of them had trouble with stuff transferring. They are fully licensed RT's that can practice legally and some of their RT classes don't cut the mustard.
