I will say this. I find it interesting that we managed Adghanastan just fine until last January with less than 24000 troops. Now that we are pulling out of Iraq we all of a sudden need 100000 troops in Afghanastan? Either the military is full of shit or Obama is wagging the dog.
Yeah it's really some suspect shit. Does it have something to do with scheming defense contractors? Is it the fact that Afghanistan is the worlds biggest producer of Opium?
I, nor most of us dont have the facts for that, but it really is fucking suspect whats going on.
People go on about "oh it's just how Afghanistan is", and go on to inaccuractly cite historical incursions.
First, Alexander didn't lose any battles, nor did he lose territorial gains. He parked his shit right up on India before he turned back. It was only some time after did the successors, the Seleucids, lose the territory.. actually I believe that was part of the territory bargained to the Indians for war elephants.
Second, that shit about the Soviets losing in it, they were kicking the shit out of the Afghan's until America started funneling supplies in for the Afghans, then later stinger missles to make Soviet air inept.
It's all bullshit, and I only wonder if the Russians now are somehow involved, just to fucking get back at us. I tell you one thing, if we found any evidence of such interaction by Russians, be it arms, or limited information or training, thats something this administration wouldn't share with the public.
That would just make Obama look the fool after all that Russian ass kissing, and cancelling of the eastern European missle shield.
