This is pretty much the worst game ever. Randall tells me there is no way to jump. Take a good game like World of Warcraft, then make sure none of the controls are the same, then take some of the controls out, and you get this. It's like a fucking Mac. Ever try to use one? Ever try to right click on something? Well, there's one mouse button, so you can't. How can I run somewhere if every time I hit the jump button, it gives me a "say" prompt?

BTW, good times tonight getting some of those levequests knocked out. I need to do some more research on attributes and elemental points and I also want to get my hands on another weapon to level a 2nd or 3rd class. I figure I can level Thaumaturge also. There's a lot to learn...
All of the non-FFXI peeps may have some difficulty adjusting to the game, one thing that will help immensely: use a gamepad. Other than that it's fairly similar to ffxi. Interface is laggy but I'd imagine that will be fixed.

So I installed your stupid teamspeak. And I rerolled a couple times to get a feel for different class mechanics. Ended up back with stupid thamaturge, though I still don't understand the targetting with the AOE abilities, seems to untarget. New name is... Tonight You.
Now how the fuck do I jump?

OK, finally got to the part where they give you the tutorial book. Starting to make sense now. I wish I had named my kitty Original Maverick before I levelled up for a couple more hours. Because that name is fucking awesome. Next month we take back Congress and in 2012 that will be President Maverick to you, JT and Thrun.

I'm glad you stuck with it ch0w, despite the inability to jump. We do need to get you a gamepad though, the keyboard/mouse way is atrocious.
The AoE thing, whenever you choose an AoE skill there is a button that appears right before you choose your target. You have to click on that button to turn AoE on. If it's on it will always be on, so you only need to select it once. The trick is only using it when needed. AoE ranges are pretty large and you can wipe a party really quick with it. I've done it a handful of times now.

Yeah, Uldah is probably the hardest place to start right now due to the over crowding. Limsa Lominsa seems to be the least crowded of all the starting zones. Fortunately you can take the ferry from Uldah to Limsa.

That's smart. Design a computer game that sucks to play with a keyboard and mouse. Brilliant. Was this developed by Republicans?

Haven't had a terrible time with the keyboard/mouse though there are issues when trying to target a mob that is moving rapidly. Double clicking for the suck.
And Vol, if you are still around Ul'Dah the Bric-a-Brac place sells spears/scepters and the Rustics or Rubics or whatever farther to the west sells swords and fist weapons for the practicing. Gotta find a place that sells the conj weapon.
